Amplifier installation, with clean power and clean wiring.

An amplifier lets your speakers and subwoofers perform the way they were designed to, with more volume, less distortion and more detail.

Amplifier types

  • Monoblock (1-channel)Built to power subwoofers.
  • 4-channelPowers front and rear speakers, or a pair of speakers and a small sub.
  • 5-channelA single amp that handles four speakers and a subwoofer.
  • Compact and powersports ampsSmaller, weather-resistant units for tight spaces, UTVs and marine use.

Why installation quality matters

The amp is only part of the job. The power wire needs the right gauge and an inline fuse near the battery. The ground needs a solid connection to bare metal. Signal cables must be routed away from power wires to avoid noise. Gains must be set properly so the amplifier is not clipping.

We do all of this, and we mount the amplifier where it gets airflow and stays secure.

Choosing the right amplifier

Match the amplifier to the speakers it will power. An amplifier that is too small can distort when pushed. One that is far larger than the speakers can damage them if the gain is set wrong. We select equipment that fits your speakers, your vehicle's electrical system and your listening style.

Space matters too. Amplifiers need airflow and secure mounting. In smaller vehicles we look for spots under seats or behind panels where the amp stays cool and out of the way.

FAQ

Amplifiers: your questions

Do I need an amplifier for aftermarket speakers?

Not required, but recommended if you want higher volume and cleaner sound. Tell us how you listen and we will advise.

Can I add an amp to my factory system?

Often yes. Line-output converters or a factory-integration interface can feed the amp. It depends on the vehicle.

Where do you mount the amplifier?

In a location that is secure, ventilated and as hidden as the vehicle allows, such as under a seat or in the cargo area.
