Bass you feel, without giving up your trunk.

A subwoofer handles the low notes your door speakers cannot. The right size, enclosure and amplifier make the difference between boom and real bass.

Choosing a subwoofer setup

  • Powered subwoofersSubwoofer and amplifier in one compact enclosure. A great fit for daily drivers and tight spaces.
  • Sealed enclosuresTight, accurate bass. Good for a wide range of music.
  • Ported enclosuresLouder and deeper at certain frequencies, but larger.
  • Custom enclosuresBuilt to fit your vehicle or to hide in a corner of the cargo area.
  • Loaded enclosuresSubwoofer already matched to a box for quick, reliable results.

What size subwoofer should you get?

Common sizes run from 8 to 12 inches and larger. Smaller subs are easier to fit and can sound quick and punchy. Larger subs move more air and go lower, but need more space and power. The best choice depends on your vehicle, your music, how much space you can give up and your budget. We will talk through your options before you buy.

Power and wiring

A subwoofer is only as good as the power behind it. We match the amplifier to the subwoofer, run properly sized power and ground wiring with fusing, and set the gain correctly so the bass is clean rather than distorted.

FAQ

Subwoofers: your questions

What size subwoofer should I get?

It depends on your vehicle, space and music. A compact powered sub suits many daily drivers. Request a quote and we will recommend a setup.

Will a subwoofer drain my battery?

A properly installed system is designed for your vehicle. If you plan a large system, tell us so we can plan the electrical side.

Can I add a subwoofer to a factory stereo?

Often, yes. There are line-output converters that make this possible with many factory radios.
